Mr. S. C. Natu is a mechanical engineering graduate passed from College
of Engineering, Pune in the year 1981 & also completed ICWA (Intermediate).
He started his career in the chosen field of consultancy & engineering
services, with Tata Consulting Engineers (a division of Tata Sons Ltd.) in
Bengaluru / Mumbai during 1981-82. He then, also worked into a manufacturing
company, SKF Bearings (India) Co. Ltd., Pune, for a couple of years.
Mr. Natu joined MITCON on October 5, 1984 and has grown with
MITCON over the past 35 years. Presently, he is working as Sr. Vice President
(Green Power & Energy Conservation Division). He was one of the Founder
members & worked as Member Secretary, Cogeneration Association of India,
Pune from its inception in 2001 till date. Mr. Natu also was one of Founder members &
has worked as the Vice Chairman of a global organization, World Alliance for
Decentralized Energy (WADE, erstwhile International Cogeneration Alliance)
during 1998-2007 period.
During his astonishing career through MITCON, Mr. Natu led the
growth and stabilization of various consulting business verticals like energy
efficiency (1987 till date), renewable energy (solar, wind, small hydro,
biomass & bagasse cogeneration, 1990 till date), environment (1996 till
date) & climate change (1998 till date). This helped MITCON to grow in
these business lines multifold. Conduct of more than 1000 energy audits,
concept to commissioning consultancy & engineering services for more than
2000 MW renewable energy projects, carbon credit consultancy services for related
projects & several environmental consultancy assignments, are the landmarks
for MITCON.
Cogen India is led by Mr. Natu for providing a platform for all
stakeholders, to lobby & ensure conducive policy & regulatory framework
for cogeneration power projects in all applicable industrial & commercial
sectors. The similar work was carried out during his association with WADE,
internationally.
Mr. Natu has International exposure in USA, UK, Germany,
Switzerland, France, Hungary, Canada, Brazil, South Africa, Dubai, Sri Lanka,
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & Nepal. He has won the Best Consultant award
from Consultancy Development Centre, India for energy efficiency consultancy. Mr.
Natu also received National Award for Excellence in Green & Waste, The
World CSR Day in 2015 and recently was conferred upon the prestigious awards
the ‘Bharat Jyoti Award’ and ‘Bharat Ratna Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Excellence
Award’ from IIFS, New Delhi.
