MITCON Consultancy & Engineering Services Ltd. has signed a MoU with ICAR-NIASM on June 2, 2023, Friday for “Development of Agroforestry Models for Long-Term Sustainability”.
ICAR-NIASM (Indian Council of Agriculture Research-National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management), established in 2009, is working for management of abiotic stresses affecting the sustainability for national food production systems. It leads research to deliver technologies for managing various kinds of abiotic stresses due to atmosphere, water and soil, which are major causes for agricultural losses including crops, animal and fisheries.
MITCON, through its subdivision MITCON Nature Based Solution, is already working in agroforestry sector for balanced agricultural and forestry practices, along with provision of innovative ways for revenue generation to farmers.
MITCON and ICAR-NIASM will work together aiming various objectives such as detailed study of planting material, techniques, crop-planning, nutrient and irrigation management, development on allometric equations for various species, hands-on training on Agroforestry plantation, etc.
